Sadly, We can no longer recommend Saint Thomas Episcopal Church. It has been more than two years and not one vestry member, or Clergy person, has bothered to reach out to us after we were unable to attend. We live all of two miles away. I had to leave for business, while I was a member of the vestry, and did not receive one email, text or call. Worse, my wife received no outreach while I was away at all. We understand why other vestry members and parishioners have left. How hard is it to reach out with today’s communication means? Find a different Episcopalian Church in San Antonio. There are several who care more than this one.

Very family friendly and welcoming. Fr. Mike is great with the kids and his sermons are great.

I was referred to this school by a family friend/neighbor. I ended up calling at least 3 times just to get in touch with the director Allison to get information and availability for my child to enroll next year. She assured me over the phone there was a spot availble next year (2024-2025) in his age group. She told me enrollment was on a first come/first serve basis and that nobody else was scheduled for a tour. We scheduled a tour with my 2 year old son (March 27th). I will admit the tour didn't go great. My son was not behaving (but he's TWO) and any parent can agree they've had "those situations." He was tired, the tour was at 9:45am and lasted til 11:15am. It was close to his lunch/nap time at the end of the tour, etc. And it was a long process with a TWO year old in a new enviroment, etc. Our TOUR (not an inteview mind you) was on a Wednesday. I liked the school. Two of the teachers there taught my older son, etc. etc. So I completed the registration online on the following Monday (April 1st) which was a holiday. So, Tuesday (April 2nd) I sent an email making sure Allison recieved the enrollment and $225 registration fee. I even called the school MULTIPLE times to follow up. Allison didn't respond to my emails or calls until APRIL 11TH with an email that had my heart in my stomach. To keep it short, she basically said she didn't think my child was a good fit for the school, apologized for confusion because they were still evaluating "spots?" I was blindsided! Not at all what she told me in the beginning. Nor did I think this school required an INTERVIEW to be accepted? And to even suggest that anything my child did during the 1.5 hours she met son was so horendous that he wasen't welcome without further interviews?? Allison even suggested leaving him there for a 4 HOUR "visit" to be evaulated further WITHOUT me present. I was shocked! I'm sure St. Thomas is a good school. I know two of the teachers there and they were wonderful!!! But, this whole process made me feel horrible. I cried. She made my feel like something was wrong with my child?! And I know that's not true. My son is so sweet! And he's TWO YEARS OLD! Are you kidding me? Now, I'm left with waiting for a refund of the $225 registration fee....and it's April 20th - still no refund or even an email response from Allison. I'm not impressed with how this situation has played out. I'm very disappointed. I hope other parents have a totally different experiance than I did. Unless your child is a complete ANGEL and does everything "right" - don't come here. They only expect "angels." I guess "difficult" children aren't allowed here. And they're a church! lol.
