Belmont Montessori Schools

For close to three years our daughter attended the Belmont Montessori School located inside Truman Medical Center-Lakewood. Yesterday, (5/30/19) as I arrived to pick up our child she was crying and covered in saliva as she had been spat on by another student. When I questioned the person entrusted to care for our little one by Belmont Montessori School (Hallie Dugan) she was unaware of any such issue. The following day the situation was reduced to a minor "he said, she said" occurance and entertained as possible fiction by Belmont Montessori School director (Lianna Trumble) and our child was asked to no longer attend. Wait... What? This issue was grossly mismanaged, devoid of compassion, and heinous. In the Three years our child has attended the Belmont Montessori School we have watched SEVERAL (six or more) caregivers come and go consistently... all of which were hires appointed by Lianna Trumble and unsurprisingly... lacking in diversity and cultural awareness. This is important because our child has consistently been one of only two minority children in attendance during this time. As a parent of any child, regardless of race, there should be no safe havens for bullying in todays society. it is important to handle such gross misconduct appropriately to avoid future tragedies... I do not believe the Belmont Montessori School under the direction of Lianna Trumble is capable of providing our community with such hope.
