West Seattle Montessori School & Academy

We are grateful for the experience our family has had at WSM. Our daughter started at WSM during the pandemic for Kindergarten. We thought it might be a temporary solution until other schools were in-person. Two years later, she is still there and we've enrolled our younger two children as well. Our kids are thriving; they look forward to school each day, have developed a strong sense of self and confidence, and are engaged and inquisitive. We've become big advocates of the Montessori method, finding it fosters self-sufficiency, curiosity, responsibility and kindness. The mixed-age classrooms allow for individual academic needs to be targeted since they speak to a broader range, while also encouraging leadership and respect. Our kids have excelled more than we expected academically, while receiving a primary education that is well-rounded including art, music, theater, cultural, science, PE, geography, grammar and even cursive lessons. Favorite 1st grade project, a hand-sewn solar system!

the social environment made me feel unwelcomed, the middle school language arts teacher T.R. bullies both students, parents, and fellow staff. She has also previously threatened a past student to take down a negative review of the school. If you want your children to be emotionally damaged and develop social and emotional issues 10/10 definitely send them here.

I feel extremely proud of the teachers and children who work at West Seattle Montessori School & Academy. During this challenging time they have worked to keep our community safe and healthy, and have done so with grace and courtesy. Keep up the good work!

West Seattle Montessori is a fantastic school! You can trust this place to leave your kids, because the teachers and the people who work there have great experience in teaching and taking care of their students!

I was a student there it was so awesome!

The school is completely unprofessional And doesn’t respect the children,I should know from first hand experience the staff are rude and completely stuck up.How do they expect kids to learn in a environment that is such low quality!.They let bullying happen and don’t reslly sort it out! I think this school needs much improvement sincerely a annoyed student
