Sunshine House of Colorado Springs

The Sunshine House was the best place for my child for preschool. The teachers were wonderful and the staff was excellent. My child grew and learned so much during their time here. I’m glad we attended. Would definitely recommend to others.

My daughter attended this summer for the first time and was overly happy about going here daily. It’s so tough to find a summer camp she enjoys, feels comfortable, and feels safe. Miss Izzy specifically was talked about often, and my daughter always had so many good things to say.

We adore our teachers and staff at the Sunshine House. Our lil guy has been so happy to have the consistency with loving teachers that are so kind and put the kids first. The staff has treated us like a part of their family since day one and we’re very thankful for the care and attention they provide our little one.

Our son was part of the UPK Program at the Sunshine House. We saw him improve socially, emotionally, and academically while he attended, and I know that is thanks to the hard working staff there. We are truly thankful.

The teachers are good. My one star rating is because the director Ashley has zero communication skills and is a nightmare to work with. I called there so many times ands left messages, even stopped in the building and left messages for her and she would never return my call. I finally had to contact corporate and then she finally calls me… with an extremely rude attitude. I wouldn’t have had to contact corporate had she returned even one call. She is awful to work with. I think she’s overwhelmed and doesn’t know how to run the center. Her assistant however is amazing. I wish they would give the position to her. She was way more responsive and amazing to talk to. My kids went there for a few months and the assistant was always so sweet and pleasant to work with. Huge props to her. I think corporate needs to discuss communication with Ashley. Especially since there are other reviews from other clients regarding her behavior.

We love the Sunshine House! My son’s teachers, Libby and Erica, care for my little guy as if he were their own. I feel safe sending him there and love that they have healthy and yummy options for lunch. There’s open communication. The thing I love the most is that the teacher don’t try to force my son into a little box. His art projects don’t come home perfect, as if an adult basically did it for him while holding his hand. They give him the freedom to create and learn in his own way and at his own pace. Highly recommend.

My family's experience at the Sunshine House has been nothing but wonderful. We transferred from another local daycare because of terrible turnover & have not experienced that at all at Sunshine House. The director Ashley obviously is doing something right to continue to retain top talent! My kids will have to leave once they start Kindergarten (unfortunately SH doesn't bus to & from the school we chose) and we are so sad about it! Ashley has been communicative and supportive as my family navigates a major family transition that could have been traumatic for my kids. My kids' teachers, Shelby and Lillie, have also been very helpful in understanding that my kids might act out on certain days depending on what may be going on in their lives and show them grace and kindness. My daughter was having difficulties at nap time (she was waking other kids up) so I worked with Shelby to find a way to entertain her during this time & we've rarely had any instances since. My kids not only love their classroom teachers, but they are excited to see everyone at the Sunshine House!
