This place has good teachers. Parents were wonderful and so were the students. Administration, however, needs to be more professional in how they manage and speak to their staff. Derogatory or insulting comments to and about staff members is unnecessary and unprofessional. Parents pay a lot of money to put their children in this school and the activities, resources, materials should match that. Daily supplies (toilet paper, soap, wipes) should be inventoried and provided. Also,maintenance needs improvement. Classroom carpet needed to be cleaned and/or replaced because it was not healthy for kids to be in a room with a dirty carpet.

This school is a gem. My child has thrived here; she has developed socially and academically! In addition, the teachers and staff are knowledgeable, caring, and altruistic. The School Director has great connections with the top independent schools in NYC as well.

My daughter attended Stuyvesant Heights Montessori for four years. Each year she had excellent teachers who were caring and attentive to her social and academic needs. Stuyvesant Heights prepared her for kindergarten and laid the foundation which allowed her to get into one of NYC's great independent private elementary schools.
