All of my children have attended Montessori schools throughout the country, wherever we move. NONE of these Montessori schools charged an application fee. Stonepath Montessori charges a whopping $230 non-refundable application fee just to be “considered” for their school; no guarantee of acceptance at all. When I asked what they needed these funds for (since they aren’t doing a credit check or anything that costs them money), they vaguely said “administrative costs”. I question the ethics of a school that charges hundreds in non-refundable application fees for no genuine reason. If this is how they treat prospective parents, I’d rather drive to another Montessori school in Anchorage. Also beware that Montessori is not a trademarked name and can be used by any business. The teachers are Montessori “trained” (whatever that means) but when I asked about the director or staff’s Montessori certifications, they had none. This school uses the name “Montessori” but they do not have legitimate credentials to justify it. Your child many not be getting a genuine Montessori experience.

Double check your invoices, a long history of accepting money and claiming they haven’t received it. Administration doesn’t hesitate to contact military chain of command to let them know you haven’t paid the balance even though you have. I don’t recommend this place for other reasons, but treat this place like a daycare, staff come and go a lot and you never know who is looking after you child day to day. Many staff are not qualified to assist with children creating a uncertainty of who is around your child.

We cannot say enough about Stonepath Montessori. Kathryn and her staff have created a wonderful learning environment for the children. The facility is top notch and the staff feel like family. Our daughter has thrived in this positive environment and has shown consistent progress in academic and social achievement. The skills she has learned at Stonepath have translated to the home environment, and her self confidence has bloomed. We highly recommend Stonepath Montessori. Brett and Clarita.

As both a teacher and mom, I can't say enough about Kate and her staff! I had concerns about putting my 2.5 year old in school for the first time and they were all gone the moment I met her. Within just a week, he was already more confident, self reliant, and ready to take on new challenges. What stands out to me the most about Stone Path is the positive way the teachers communicate with the children, the calm environment, and the work ethic of the staff. I can go to my job everyday knowing that my child is safe, cared for, and learning. Thanks Kate!!!

My child has attended Stone Path Montessori since he was 6 months old. The kids play and have fun, but it isn't a free for all. They have focused, intentional activities. Outdoor time is also a priority, which I really value. He's almost two years old now and practically runs into class in the morning. As an only child, I believe the social interaction has made a real difference in his development. Communication with parents is also a strong point. I always feel in the "know", and Kate is always willing to answer questions and share feedback.

As far as I’m concerned this is the only place I would consider for early childhood education within the Eagle River Chugiak area. They have a very dedicated staff and mission. Kate has been doing this for a long time, and my daughter particularly enjoyed it here.😁

My now 18 month old has been attending this educational and childhood development center and ever since enrolling him, I have noticed huge improvements. This is such a high quality childcare facility that I would highly recommend to anyone with little ones. The environment is one of the best I have ever seen, being from an early childcare background, I am always skeptical when entering any new center. The director here is amazing and is so focused and appreciative of each child’s well being. The positive changes I have seen in my little guy directly reflect the quality of care he is getting at Stone Path Montessori. I am so grateful to have found such a special place in Eagle River! Thank you for being here!

Stone Path Montessori has been an amazing preschool for both our children. Our 5yr old is in her 2nd year and is starting to sound out words for reading and counting/subtracting. Socially she has grown so much. Starting she was shy and did not want to talk; now she talks nonstop to almost everyone. Our 3yr old with Down Syndrome is in his first year. He has been making great strides just for the social interaction and wanting to do what his friends do. His major milestones since going have walking, dressing, and starting to get interest in potty training. We are so appreciate of the teachers and staff. Thank you!
