We love the Playschool! Our oldest attended two years here and our youngest is currently enrolled. The teachers and staff really care about the kids and the community that the Playschool environment provides. Such an amazing space for kids to learn and play before transitioning into more full time school. Having our oldest here really helped when he started kindergarten this year. He was very socially and emotionally ready and excited to be in full day kindergarten.

Weekly themes, small class sizes, play based and welcoming of all families. This is truly a gem of a preschool in Anchorage (close to UMED) and we are so happy to be a part of the Playschool community!

My daughter has LOVED her time at the playschool! She is building the social skills and confidence needed to thrive when she starts kindergarten and it’s been a pleasure to get to know all of the staff and other parents. Such a great, small community to be a part of!

I’ve been completely happy with sending my child to the playschool (although it is housed at St. Mary’s it is not a religiously based program). Their outdoor space is perfect for kids to be kids, exploring the environment and fostering friendships during unstructured play. Ms Stuart has a warmth and genuiness about her that makes it feel like my child is spending time with a close relative. I would highly recommend checking it out by calling and scheduling a tour.

It has been a remarkably pleasant experience for my daughter to go to St. Mary's to the extent that she gets up every morning wondering if there is no class that day. The School has influenced her significantly in terms of her developing 'adaptability to the world' while at the same time being able to 'stand outside of the crowd'. The teaching and administrative staff there will instantly make you feel at home (In particular, her teacher Ms. Stewart has decades of experience molding the kids for the future and she is just brilliant in everything she does for the kids). Yes, this is the place to go if your intention is to develop the seeds of creativity in your children early on (and not make a three year old to cluelessly mug up arithmetic).
