Stepping Stone School - Shoal Creek/Domain

Update - 11/19/2024 - Suzy and Shauna are still leading this campus and I am so happy to say that the staff and students seem to be thriving! My daughter’s development with stepping stone has been nothing short of amazing. Every week she has a new skill. I am so grateful for Suzy, Shauna and the staff. This place is so so special now and I can’t imagine my daughter being anywhere else. Giving this review based on recent changes at this campus. This is not the same review I would have given three months ago. I’ve read the reviews concerning the high turnover rate and they are absolutely true. That has always been our concern since our daughter started at Stepping Stone at 12 weeks old in summer 2023. That being said, since Suzy has become the new principal of this campus, I have seen a lot of positive changes in the cleanliness of the classrooms and genuinely believe that her outgoing personality and love for the children has encouraged a better culture not only with the parents and children but also with the teachers. She seems equally invested in all of the children and I have witnessed her jumping in to help where needed when a teacher is out and they need all hands on deck. I’m looking forward to seeing more positive changes under her principalship. I encourage upper management at Stepping Stone to do what they need to lower the turnover rate of teachers and principals. It has definitely always kept us with one foot out the door until Suzy took over.

My daughter, who is in the newborn room, loves going to see Miss Suzy and her lovely teachers everyday. We have noticed that she is communicating more and is more active and engaged on days she is at stepping stone vs when we have her home and we attribute that to the care and interactions she has with the staff and her fellow classmates. We had the option to switch to a closer stepping stone at one point and we decided to keep her enrolled at this one because we were so impressed with her care day in and day out. We are unfortunately moving away and we will miss the team and Miss Suzy’s love and care ❤️ highly recommend.

My daughter loves Shoal Creek! She’s been there for a few months now but we have seen so much growth and positivity in her. And Ms. Suzy has always been kind, welcoming, and very attentive to my daughter’s needs. The teachers are also kind and you can tell they love all the kids. Everyone knows my daughter by name and that warms my heart. She is always excited to go see her friends and she has learned so much! Shoal Creek has had such a positive impact in a short amount of time.

My son loves it here! He started school (here) a little over a year ago when he was 3 and has enjoyed his time making friends and learning in this pleasant atmosphere. The staff here is super friendly, welcoming, and always wearing a smile on their face. The principle, Ms. Susie, always has a pep in her step and cheerful demeanor. Vice Principle, Ms. Shawna, is so personable, helpful, and kind. Mr. Antonio is like the big brother we all wish we had, constantly giving so much support and encouragement to the kids! Ms. Alicia models responsibility and respectful boundaries to the kids, which I value for my son immensely. Ms. Bellia has improved my son's eating habits so much, and I appreciate her patience and consistency, even when my son is being his most stubborn. Although he's graduated from her class, I have to thank Ms. Maria for our experience as well. Being his first ever teacher, she played a huge role in the new milestone my son transitioned into. I only mentioned the staff I've had personal interactions with, but I witness kids of all ages happy as can be when I walk in the building. This is a great school and I couldn't be happier or more thankful for the way they have treated us from the beginning!

Absolutely love stepping stone! Ms.Monica treats the kids like they are her own and they all love her! Suzy and Shauna are both absolutely amazing my son is obsessed with them and I cannot thank them enough for what they do for our kids

Ms. Liz in the infant room is exceptional and deserves so much recognition. She truly knows and cares about my baby. He lights up when he sees her each morning! It was *not* easy for me to return to work after mat leave but the team at this location are excellent. They helped me (and baby) ease in, gave us tons of support, and went above and beyond with communication. It's been 3 months and it honestly just continues to get better. It's no secret that there's been a lot of turnover at this location's staff, especially Ms. Liz are the type of quality folks that I'd hoped we'd find to care for our baby. This is an easy 5 star review. Thanks for loving on our little guy.

We transferred to this location earlier this year, and I have been extremely happy with the care that our daughter has been receiving. Her teachers are attentive, caring, and kind to all of the children. Our child is always smiling and waving when she enters the school. You can’t ask for much more than that. Miss Suzy has done a fantastic job with This school, and I would recommend stepping stone Shoal Creek to any of my friends.

We were at another Stepping Stone location where Ms. Suzy was the principal. When she was promoted and moved to Shoal Creek, we hopped at the chance to join her. We were previously interested in this location but heard about the high turnover. Under her leadership, we knew that this would be the right place to move our 2 year old and newborn. Ms Suzy is really invested in the children. She recognized that our daughter needed more of a challenge and moved her to an advance class. Ms Maria her teacher is caring and collaborative. She truly cares about building up our daughter's confidence. Moving from a different state and different daycares, these two ladies have tried to ensure that my daughter is thriving in a positive environment. Ms Nikki, whose class my daughter sometimes joins, is also really great! As for the infant room, Ms Abby, Ms Yanyce, Ms Liz, and Ms Jade are amazing. They really care for all of the babies and are so sweet to them. They go above and beyond to take care of my little one's sensitive skin and I love catching up with them in the morning and afternoon to get the scoop on my baby. I'm really glad that with such a change (NY to TX) we were able to find such a positive environment for our kids.

I hate calling this "daycare" because it's so much more than that. I love that the Tadpoles app gives us updates about our daughter's day, including what skills she's working on. I can tell the staff genuinely cares about my child; it makes it so much easier to send her off to school each day.

Why isn’t Ryan working thier no more Management always on there phone The food at stepping stone sucks I promise that they want us to lie to parents they leave the milk out on the table and forget to put it in the fridge and they tell us to throw it out and tell parents that internet is down I don’t agree w that They have fired good teachers from stepping stone shoal creek Simon told us to lie about milk Parents if u leave presents for teachers at front office they never get us none Also who ever leaves donuts 🍩 on Friday at shoal creek they keep it for managers only
