My Friends' Montessori Preschool Co-Op

My oldest will graduate from My Friends' Montessori Preschool next month after 2 years with Teacher Bonnie and Teacher Robin. My son was a month shy of being 3 when he started at My Friends'. He wasn't talking much and now he will be completing his preschool experience knowing his phonics, letters, how to count to 100, all about animals, insects, flowers, seeds, art, dinosaurs, fossils, rockets, space, etc. He has learned how to make friends and be a friend. He has a special bond to both his teachers and looks forward to his two days at school each week. There have never been tears at drop off and I know this is because of his teachers and the learning environment at My Friends' Montessori Preschool. The weekly field trips have been wonderful to explore different parks and attractions around Los Angeles. It has helped me get to know my city. It's great to interact with the other parents and children my child plays with at school as well. I have two younger children that also accompany us on the field trips. They have already connected with the teachers and look forward to when they too get to start school. We feel so lucky to have found My Friends' Montessori Preschool.

My daughter has been a student of My Friends' Montessori for two years now. My Friends' Montessori embraces academics, nature field trips, music, imaginative play, yoga, and art as learning tools. By combining these elements, Teacher Bonnie and Teacher Robin have created a transformative learning experience which fostered my daughter's curiosity, creativity, independence, and confidence! From the moment my daughter first stepped into class, she was welcomed with warmth, comfort, and a genuine desire to see her thrive. Both of her teachers posses an uncanny ability to connect with each child on an individual level, fostering a sense of belonging and security. I knew we found the right place. The preschool also actively involves parents in their children's education. There is regular communication by email/text, photo updates, and mommy/daddy- chaperoned field trips on a weekly basis. Choosing this preschool has been one of the best decisions we have made for our daughter. She has blossomed into a confident, social, curios, and eager learner. It's bittersweet that my daughter's time at her preschool will be coming to an end, but I feel she is more than fully prepared for kindergarten now. Thank you to Teacher Bonnie and teacher Robin! :) I highly recommend this preschool to any parent looking for an exceptional early education experience for their child.

I have sent both of children here and I highly recommend Teacher Bonnie if you are looking for a nurturing place for your young children. The small class size allows for each child to have specialized attention.

Teacher Bonnie and her wonderful program were like a warm cup of tea for a parent's soul--offering the perfect blend of time together on field trips (Thursdays) and time apart on drop-off days (Tuesdays and Wednesdays). The field trips really made this program special, and their costs are included with tuition! Each week, Bonnie helped us discover new local gems and new ways to play and connect within them. The other co-op families were always so kind, supportive, and easy to be around. And I cannot say enough about how truly special the teachers are there--they are loving caregivers and passionate educators with the kind of heart and character that I wish for my own child. My child thrived there!

My 4 yo announced at breakfast: "Mommy, Math is everywhere! Do you how I know? Teacher Bonnie!" Yes we love teacher Bonnie! We are so fortunate to have found teacher Bonnie through Yelp, I want to share our amazing experience and hopefully help other families navigate the stressful preschool selection process. We are almost at the end of our second year with teacher Bonnie and I know that our twin girls are beyond 100% ready for kindergarten. Our kids have never whined about going to school. They think school is this awesome place where you have fun and play -- and play to do ... in Bonnie's incredibly beautiful lush backyard! And through all that playing, they come home knowing how to read, write, do math, name the planets and continents and great artists, sing and dance and create and experiment, clean up after themselves, be kind to others, and be curious about the world. That's teacher Bonnie's magic! Teacher Bonnie runs a unique part time program where the kids are at her school Tue and Wed, and we all go on a field trip on Thursdays. Yes, a new adventure every week! Through these field trips the parents get to connect and form a wonderful community. We help each other out and get together outside of school time. And I have learned so much from watching teacher Bonnie work with the kids on these field trips -- she always strikes that perfect balance between gently providing encouragement and firmly providing boundaries. Last but not least her assistant teachers Robin and Sara are just amazing educators and people. They have also both sent their kids through the school. If you are considering a part time preschool in the West LA area, definitely contact teacher Bonnie!
