Montessori Center for Teacher Development

I recently completed a significant portion of my Montessori training at the Montessori Center for Teacher Development. While the instructors at the school demonstrated knowledge, support and willingness to assist, I cannot recommend the program as a whole. During my time working with the program's director, I received treatment that made me feel inferior and unvalued. When I raised concerns about this treatment, the director dismissed me and commented about knowing "my type." While I acknowledge and apologized for approaching the situation from a student perspective, the subsequent treatment I received was unjust and unprofessional. At a meeting to discuss the situation, the director seemed to have no recollection of our prior conversation or other pertinent discussions, leading me to feel that I was being gaslit. Experiencing gaslighting is an extremely distressing experience and has no place in a professional environment. Despite the strengths of the instructors, I cannot recommend the Montessori Center for Teacher Development due to this experience. On a positive note, I have since joined a new program that has exceeded my expectations. The staff is friendly, supportive and committed to allowing students to experience the classroom fully, ensuring the best learning experience possible. If you are seeking a Montessori program, I strongly advise you to look for a program that respects and values its students. 2 stars because the instructors were wonderful
