My daughter went here for about 2 years and the teachers were amazing with her. The admin staff however was almost bad enough to find a new school. My wife picked LSM due to its proximity to my office since she worked in the service industry and couldn't take calls in an emergency but since she signed our daughter up they had her information listed first. We emailed to have the first contact information be mine, they confirmed they made the update via email and about a week later they called my wife, and said they didn't have my information on file and despite repeated attempts they never did get the information updated. Also since my wife was working and going to school she wasn't around much for our daughter which lead to issues, so when I or her grandmother would pick her up from class she had a tantrum because we were not mom and she was feeling abandoned. At one point the school called my wife saying they didn't think they could release my daughter to me for her safety concerns and from what I have been told they misrepresented the situation. If they were not able to reach my wife who indicated that it was fine to release our daughter, then I would have likely had to involve the police.

Little Steps Montessori is absolutely amazing. This school was suggested to me after I needed to find care for my then 2 year old. She had been in the care of family since she was an infant and as a first time mother, I was terrified at the prospect of leaving her with people I didn’t know personally. I toured the school and found the environment was clean and the teachers very friendly. I also love how diverse the staff is and the fact that it’s not a religious school. My daughter has flourished since she began attending school here. She came home singing her colors in Spanish and I was floored at how clearly she pronounced each word. The teachers are incredible and they treat the children with so much love and respect, as if they were all their own. My daughter has attended Little Steps for over a year now and she’s so happy everyday at drop off and pick up. I must also say that the parent/teacher communication is outstanding. You’re never left in the dark and if you have questions or concerns, they address them right away. I can’t recommend this school enough!

I found LSM by chance, really. It's on my daily commute to work and I just stopped in and asked more information. We did a trial run and 2 years later, we're still here! A few things about the school that continue, even after 2 years, to impress me: 1) This school is non religious. There are a lot of preschools in Richardson and the vast majority of them are based around some religion. I love that LSM does not do that. Being a school that focuses on it's Montessori work, and not a faith, has given the school a multi-national culture. The student, parent, and teaching bodies are diverse, with each of them bringing something different to the table. I love this about the school. 2) Everyone knows their stuff. The teachers are Montessori trained and work so well with the kids. My son has been in three classes, soon to graduate to the next class, and each set of teachers has impressed me more than the last. The directors are educated, personal, and hands on. Jarin and Sharmin, both at the front desk, are quick to answer questions. I'm almost positive they have each student, parent, and schedule memorized. The personal touch that comes with all of this is irreplaceable. 3) The parents are involved. We get emails, newsletters, notes sent home, reminders, anything we could possibly need to know is in our hands. Communication here is A+. And there seems to always be a way for parents to help out in some way, whether it's bringing flowers up to the class, community donation opportunities, or posters that families make for birthdays. An involved parent base says a lot about the school and is a testament to the "village to raise a child" mentality. I can't recommend this school enough. The teachers are amazing. My son has grown so much since we started. There are a million good things to say about how much of a positive impact they make on students and families alike.

Had a few minor issues with child/teacher compatibility, but by the time my son left for kindergarten he was already reading, writing, and doing 3 digit addition and basic subtraction. Super happy with our investment in our child. Worth every penny!

We moved our son from a regular day care facility to Little Steps a few months ago and we could not be any happier with the progress he's made in such a short time there. Within two weeks he was starting to use more words and recognize colors and numbers. Now after two months he gets great joy out of telling us what colors things are and how many of them there are, and it's all thanks to the great teachers at Little Steps. The building is huge and very clean and the teachers care about their little students as much as a parent would. If you're considering putting your child in a Montessori school you should look into Little Steps.
