Les Enfants Montessori School

Amazing school that emphasizes academics. Confidently dropping off my kids knowing that they are safe with teachers who care about their academic and behavioral development as well as their happiness, is very important and Les Enfant's exceeds those expectations. As a bonus, they incorporate extracurricular activities, such as karate, soccer, ballet and dance, within the school day. Both my children have learned and grown so much at this school, well beyond any gifted and talented program.

Best choice we made for our children!

Attended an open house here and am hoping to avoid anyone enrolling their child in this school. The school prides itself on its history, but has an obviously singular view of students that does not consider their individuality. Toys and activities are presented well, but the building is dark and cold. Some classrooms are almost completely bare.

Les Enfants provides an environment where children truly thrive, develop varied talents, and become independent. Our eldest child has been attending the school for nearly 3 years, and we just transitioned our youngest to a full day schedule. Prior to her fifth birthday she was already computing five digit numbers, reading, and conversing a bit in Spanish. The teachers and staff are intelligent, kind, and genuinely care about their students. The schools headmistress Mrs. Riveros is a doting teacher and firm believer in the Montessori method. The curriculum is impressive, the building offers amenities such as a gym and two private outdoor spaces. After weighing other options, this was the only school that we considered sending our children to. And frankly, there is nothing like it in the area.

My daughter has been coming to Les Enfants since she is 20 months old and I couldn’t think of a better place to send my child. I’ve spent my life growing up in Astoria and have known countless friends and neighbors entrusting this school with their children. My daughter has flourished and I look forward to all she is going to learn at Les Enfants. Another plus is they run the school as if we are all family and we couldn’t be more pleased with the love and dedication they have for each child. Amazing experience. My daughter went here for 4 months and then had to move out of New York. But it was my daughter's first experience at school. Amazing teachers, staff and a great learning environment. She went to the 18 months to 2 year class room. She misses all her teachers now. Management is very responsive as well. Wouldn't have moved from this school if we weren't moving states. I would def. recommend this school.
