Our family is grateful for finding Learn and Play Preschool. During my initial conversation with Deanna I was immediately impressed with her calm demeanor, common sense when it comes to caring for children and philosophy of letting the children play (so important!) and learn. When my child first started attending she was very shy and would often cry at her prior daycare. My daughter never shed a single tear during drop offs, or otherwise, with Deanna. In fact, to my surprise, my child who cried about going to her prior school, will ask to go to Deanna’s, and misses her and her friends when she doesn’t attend. My daughter’s socialization skills have improved significantly. Her imaginary play is through the roof, and she’s learned to write her name among other skills. Deanna has created the best mix of abundant play (especially outdoor time!) and learning. I couldn’t give a higher recommendation.

Amazing!! Deanna is a dream come true for our family! We had two boys whom had just come out if a bad preschool/ daycare situation when we found Deanna on CL. Her credentials speak for themselves, and she is just the most warm and considerate person. Since being with Deanna, almost 6 months now, my youngest son is so much calmer and focused. My oldest began kinder this year and is way advanced, thanks to Deanna's fine tuning and patience. She works with the kids in a kindergarten type way, with lots of learning, mingled with lots of playing (not an intended pun, it's really what it is), and tons of love. All the snacks she gives the kids are organic and healthy. My kids never ate so many vegetables!! There are few people I genuinely trust to take care of my kiddos, and Deanna by far has the medal of honor in that respect!! I highly, highly recommend her care to anyone looking for pre k care.

I am so thankful that I found Deanna and this preschool! She treats the kids like they are her own, with lots of love and support. She is also great with communication to the parents. I've had experience with other preschools (some great and 1 really bad one), so I'm aware of the downfalls that many high volume preschool establishments have. Thankfully, this preschool doesn't have any of those negative qualities. She even asks if there are any particular learning exercises that you are doing at home with your child that she can reinforce while they are under her care. This speaks volumes to how much she cares about each individual child!

We evaluated three Montessori schools and two other private schools before coming here. After spending just a small amount of time in the classroom and meeting the teacher, listening to the kids play and study, I was sold. I really cannot say enough good things about Deanna Barnes. She's a smart, patient, caring, sensitive person with a wonderful sense of humor and a truly compassionate warmth for the children. My kid has never once in nearly a year said, "I don't want to go." Not even once. This really is one of those rare gems that is full of love *and* education.
