Kinder Haus is a beautiful school that I both attended as a child and worked at as a young adult! The attention and care given to the children and their development is inspiring, and has given me the stability, self direction, and confidence to deal with the ever changing world around us. Returning to Kinder Haus as a young adult to do summer camp work years later also allowed me to see how much love the staff has for the Montessori method, and the growth and wellbeing of each child. Some teachers that are still working today taught me as a child in 2001, and getting to learn about how they interact with and motivate the children made me realize how special the gift of a Kinder Haus Montessori education really is. It has given me personally life long best friends, career opportunities, and a love to learn that keeps me on track to this day. The staff members are kind, supportive, and communicative with the parents and children.

Love this school. If you’re looking for a “day care” look elsewhere. It might be a preschool but it’s run like “big school”. The teachers and staff are so personable but professional at the same time, they always hear your concerns and try to work with the parents. But the most interesting thing is to see the kids doing “work”- and those kids are doing just that. They are always busy with activities and they are the friendliest, most hospitable kids you’ll meet. They welcome new kids with open arms. There are teachers still there from something like 20 years ago. Tamra & Bonnie & Michelle are a few of the teachers mine had but they are all 3 still there and that was 8-9 years ago. I know my kids got so much from their program and they still carry a lot of the “Montessori” ways with them. I credit Kinder Haus for my kids love of learning and being such confident kids today. Cons: I found them through a friend who was an employee at the time and she really loved it but couldn’t live on what they paid (she still speaks highly of the program and has many stories of the kiddies). That was really the not so great thing I knew about and the owner from what I heard and saw (a couple of times myself) did not treat them girls well. Not sure if she’s still the owner but she definitely had no idea how lucky she was to have those great ladies. My friend told me that it was dreadful working for her and the lady was verbally abusive to all of them and all the employees felt the same way. It seemed to be a very tense place when the owner was in town (apparently she has homes in other states too). I know my friend was super dedicated and even went on to get Montessori certified later, but knew as long as that lady was the owner there she’d never be able to make a living or what she is worth. It’s evident that she takes way more than her share of the money for herself while the girls work their tails off and have to count pennies to get by, especially single moms. How can a single mom live on 9-10 an hour? They can’t. But it does speak to their true love of what they do when they can work for a person like that and still love kids. Recently I suggested a relative go take a tour for her baby boy and that’s how I know that Bonnie, Michelle & Tamra are all still there =}. She didn’t know if the lady- (Patty or Pat) was still the current owner but loved the place and teachers and the women in the office. She said they are both principals or directors (don’t remember what they’re called exactly) but that they were so gracious and welcoming and seemed to really have it together. She wanted to enroll him but her husband got offered a position in a new location. She did say that she would send her little boy there in a heartbeat if they weren’t moving. I am curious to know if it’s still under the same owners, hopefully they get paid more than 10 dollars per hour though. Other than that, would I suggest Kinder Haus?- yes I would just because of the staff alone and the program they have. The owner lady (if she still is) might not be great but I guess she still has some committed workers who believe in our future. I’d be giving 5 stars if it weren’t for the owner woman, everything else at least in my experience was memorable meaningful and taught my kids a lot of skills that I probably couldn’t have given them myself. If Tamra & Michelle and Bonnie are still there then that’s a really good thing. (Oh and my kids still remember the sign language they learned from Bonnie!)
