My view might be dated. Initial impression was amazing, everything nice, new and a soft spoken director. But then it was not what it seamed: very dogmatic about separation, ignoring child's individuality (even threatened us, parents), very loud music playing all day which is not in line with Montessori nor acceptable for kids wellbeing, we were told that a 3 year old lacks concentration (which a norm for this age and an early-ed teacher should know, so they were playing on our insecurity as new parents). We understand that parents have to drop kids off and just see the front, but we had a preview of that inner work which we didn't like. Later on, we noticed changing teachers who werr bringing kids out to play to a playground, which might have meant a big staff turnover and which is never good for kids.

Really warm staff, teachers are hands on and wonderful. This school is light years ahead of another private school we were at last year. There are always celebrations going on, the kids are involved in projects, plenty of outdoor time, the teachers stay in touch, and no drama!

My daughter has been at Hopscotch Montessori for almost 2.5 years and my son started this summer. We have loved our experience at the school. The teachers are engaging, warm and work as a team with you to ensure your child is learning the skills they need while also developing a love for learning. We toured a lot of schools on the UES and Hopscotch was our favorite by far. It is unpretentious, clean, organized and welcoming. Our nanny also see's the kids at the playground with the teachers during the day and has commented on how the teachers play and engage with the children while making sure to keep them safe. Overall, picking a preschool for your kids is a hard decision and we are happy that we picked Hopscotch.

We couldn't be happier with our decision to choose Hopscotch for our 2 year old. Our son needed more time to work on his separation anxiety, and the teachers (Justin, Marien, and Adrienne) and the administrative staff (Jeff, Iryna, and Tania) not only helped him in adjusting to his changing environment but also made sure he was happy and comfortable while doing that. They work/ed at his pace! We also get frequent pictures and videos of his daily schedule that help us in knowing about our child's day and activities. His vocabulary has erupted immensely and he has become more independent. In short, the teachers know that every child is different and adapt to a child's need/s. This school is really amazing if you are looking for something more than a daycare.

Now that my youngest is enrolled, I can review Hopscotch. In my opinion, every other nursery I have toured is a day care, while Hopscotch is a school. My older son has learned valuable life skills and is learning to put himself into purposeful, independent and focused work. Even compared to the other Montessori programs I looked at, including a shiny new one downtown, the program here has exceeded my expectations. The teachers are devoted and hands on when needed. The protocols for learning align so wonderfully for children of this age range. The community is warm and unassuming, valuing our children over fund raising and position. From discipline approaches to team building, while working on the individual, I can not offer enough praise.

We are very happy with Hopscotch Montessori. Teachers are amazing, with personalized approach to every single child. Jeff and Iryna (educational director and owner) always know what’s going on with every single child and always ready to help. Kids learn something new every day and we constantly get updates/pics from teachers. Overall the program is very well rounded. We highly recommend Hopscotch Montessori without any reservations.

Both of our kids go to Hopscotch and we couldn't be happier. Everyone from Iryna to Jeff and our teachers have become a mini extension of our family. My wife and I are continually amazed at what our kids are learning and how independent and creative they have become over the last couple years of exposure to the Montessori philosophy.

My daughter has been in Hopscotch Montessori for almost 2 years. Wonderful school with caring staff and knowledgeable teachers. I'm constantly amazed by how much teachers and staff know about each student. Highly recommended!
