Guidepost Montessori at Kendall Park

We enrolled our son into the Kendall Park guidepost about a month ago and we’ve had a great experience so far! Ms Saba and the guidepost teachers / staff have been very loving and welcoming to our son and our family. They’re always available to answer any questions we have. Our son is also doing great and we’ve observed some amazing new skills and developmental milestones in the last couple weeks and overall we are very happy with our decision!

We really wanted to love Guidepost Montessori in Kendall Park NJ, but we've had issues since we started there with our 9 month old. There has been constant turnover of leadership at the school. The assistant head of school changed in the few months between our tour and our son's first day. The head of the school left two weeks into our son's experience, and that position remains vacant month later. Meanwhile, the current assistant head of school is somehow handling all administrative needs, teaching part-time in the Nido classroom, and will be leaving on maternity leave this fall. I honestly feel terrible for her! We have generally found staff to be pleasant, our son was always happy at school, but there were certainly staffing issues. The ratio was regularly five to one when I would drop my son off in the morning. There were many days when we did not receive daily photographs, and this school does not offer a camera option. I also had to keep on top of my son's daily tracker because he would sit in the same diaper for up to 3 1/2 hours at a time! Even on his last day of school, he came home in a diaper that was so full of urine it had soaked into his shorts. I think the staff is kind and well-meaning, but they are understaffed, overworked, and the kids suffer because of it. Basic care needs are often not met. We were grateful to be moving, and knew that our son would only be here for a few short months. I did explore the guidepost in our new town and found it to be further understaffed, so we've moved on from guidepost entirely. It's really a shame, the campus is beautiful but I think the staff is set up to fail and basic care needs and minimum state requirements are not being met at this school.

We joined our daughter at kendall Park guidepost about an 1.5yr ago and I strongly believe that was the best decision we took.. We are so happy with overall experience we had.Its just not one thing we are happy about it's everything.I have to specially mention about our lead guide Miss salma,who took great care of our child.we have seen an exceptional change and growth in our child in regards to her speech,attention,Problem solving and many more. We recently have to transfer to a different Guidepost and Miss Sheena helped to get the transfer process done as smooth as possible. We are definitely going to miss all staff at Kendall Park specially Miss Salma.

Worst experience ever! We did not expect our kid to learn shouting from a Montessori school. Pants were wet and not changed. DO NOT RECOMMEND this location at all! No communication by the guide on how the day went and what the kid did. Poor management and lack of process. I will hope no parents have such an experience with their kids at any daycare. My kid went for less than 2 weeks and they did enough damage monetary and emotionally.

I am delighted to express my immense satisfaction with the teaching skills and staff at Guidepost Montessori school. The knowledge and expertise demonstrated by the teachers have been exceptional. I truly appreciate the individual attention given to each child, including my son, and the dedication to their progress. It brings me great joy to see how the teachers actively share each step and improvement my son makes. Their commitment to providing regular updates and involving parents in the learning journey is highly commendable. Additionally, the caring atmosphere you have cultivated helps my son feel included and motivated to excel. We love this Montessori for many reasons. It is new, clean, bright, ample playground space, etc etc. The management is very receptive to needs of the children and parents, and they actually care!! Their lead guides are very knowledgeable and embody the values of Montessori methodology. This school of certainly a cut above the rest in the area, you will not regret your decision to enroll.

This is my first time writing a review and I am happy to share my experience with Guidepost at Kendall Park! My toddler was the very first student that the Kendall Park campus enrolled and to date, I appreciate all the hard work and thoughtful decisions that all guides, head of school, assistant heads of school, and staff have done. My toddler has been struggling with drop-off and the lead guide and assistant guides in her classroom are always patient, understanding, and supportive. They are demonstrating to my child that her feelings are important and they are there for her. I believe they never pressure her to stop crying or leave her unattended. My child started daycare with limited English skills because we primarily speak Mandarin at home. It is evident that her English skills have been improving and she has been able to do more independent work. Her social, cognitive, and motor skills are definitely developing under the environment that Guidepost has been creating and providing. Guidepost at Kendall Park has been doing a great job creating a sense of community on campus. So far, they have already held two fun events where children and their families got together and had fun. During the midst of the pandemic, they worked really hard to support the caregivers who have to work while maintaining the safety of children and the classroom. Another thing that I really appreciate about Guidepost at Kendall Park is that they are transparent about tuition and there is no additional payment every month (except if you want to enroll your child in a summer sport camp which is optional), unlike some of other daycare centers that charge additional costs for materials, etc. Also, I appreciate how Guidepost at Kendall Park never asks or expects parents to sign up to bring small gifts or snacks to school for teachers/students on some occasions such as teacher appreciation day, valentine's day, etc. (this is purely based on personal values). This is really different from what I have heard from some of my friends who send their children to other daycares. Oh and they just started Water Play Day once a week this summer without additional charge too. My child loves the Water Play Day! The Head and Assistant Heads of School are amazing. They really spend time interacting with children and getting to know them and their families. As a parent, I feel at peace about sending my child to Guidepost and Kendall Park because I know that they strive to provide the most developmentally appropriate care for my child with passion and understanding. They are efficient about communication with parents/caregivers too! I always feel comfortable reaching out to the guides and Head of school with questions. Hope I did not miss anything that I appreciate about Guidepost at Kendall Park!

I enrolled my daughter at just 6 months old. As a new mom I was nervous and skeptical of leaving her at a daycare after the horror stories I’ve heard. After touring many daycares. I found guidepost, specifically the Kendall Park location. Dr. Ali is warm, compassionate, patient and truly loves what she does. Everyone at Guidepost is hands on, willing to help and well trained. They were understanding and considerate of my new mom jitters and went out of their way to provide me with additional updates during my daughter’s transition. My daughter is now 11 months and developmental I’ve seen leaps in her skill sets. They truly meet your child where they are and challenge them daily! I couldn’t have wished for a better day care!

We absolutely love this campus - the space is beautiful, the teachers and administration care so much for the children and families. Our children have grown so much academically and socially, and are happy to come to school each day.

I absolutely adore this Montessori I send my daughter here and it’s the best decision I’ve made. All teachers and staff are very kind and patient. This is not just a daycare my child is learning new things every day and the best part is that she learns independence and confidence. I have recommended friends to join and would encourage others the same. You will not be disappointed :)
