Greene Towne Montessori School

Greene Towne has a 50+ year track record educating generations of children in Philadelphia. As the only Montessori school in the city fully accredited by the American Montessori Society and Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools, every aspect of the school--from teacher training requirements to the detailed curriculum to the facilities and classroom materials--is held to the highest standards. We have personally had a great experience there with our two children since starting in 2019.

My kids were at Greene Towne from the age of 2 through their Kindergarten years. The authentic Montessori method is seen through the details of how the classroom is set up and learning materials which are all intentional and have a purpose. When you observe you will see a very independent classroom where children are engaged in their work. You will see children helping other children, older children teaching younger children and participating in care of the community . The primary classroom is mixed ages 3-6. The children develop as leaders in the class over their time at the school. The ability to try their leadership skills in a place that has become safe and comfortable is when you really see the full magic of Montessori. I would highly recommend coming and seeing the magic for yourselves.

My child (5 yrs, rising Kindergartner) has been a student here for two years and we could not be happier as we head into his final year at the school. Most importantly to us, his teachers have been excellent, demonstrating real care and personal attention to our child's particular needs. If you are interested in finding a nurturing and supportive environment that at the same time fosters independence, I highly recommend scheduling a tour.

I’m a parent of two Greene Towne students (one graduated from Kindergarten today!). Our experience and that of our children has been phenomenal.

Greene Towne has been a fantastic first school for our toddler. They are kind, nurturing and the growth we’ve seen in our son’s first year there has been incredible. Every morning the staff are all very welcoming and every afternoon our son is so happy after a great day at school. We love Greene Towne!
