We have been at Copernicus for almost two years now and we really like the school. At first our son did not really take to the spanish learning, or so we thought. We struggled to get him to speak spanish at home and we thought maybe he equated speaking spanish to school work and did not wan to do it at home or that maybe he was not really learning a lot. We were wrong about the second one for sure. After the first 9 months to year he was speaking spanish to my bilingual mother in law and was perfectly fine correcting some of my bad spanish at home. On the STEM front the school has made him curious. He will ask about topics they covered in school e.g. circuits, beginner physics, plant biology and other topics. He is not going to learn a lot of depth in these topics but he is also only 3. The biggest thing is that the teachers at Copernicus have instilled him with a sense of wonder and curiosity that would be hard to replicate outside the school. Every teacher he has had has been great. The one thing people might notice is that they have some turnover in teachers. Mostly this turnover is good, people taking time to have families or to further their education, but it is something that happens. The staff is fantastic at finding fantastic folks to fill the vacancies and are always on top of making sure the kids and parents feel supported. Yesenia and Eilin are great and are always at the front. They are quick to keep us posted on what is going on at the school. Every teacher we have met has been passionate about education and about the well being of our child. The photo updates and notes most days are welcome inclusions to my day. We are very happy with how our son has grown at Copernicus and will be keeping him there at least until he can start pre k and maybe beyond. The growth he has shown has been great and the support the school has shown us, from help with potty training to tips on keeping his attention, have been invaluable. His curiosity will hopefully set him up for success. We are very fond of this school and its staff.

I can't say enough about how amazing this school is. Our daughter enjoyed her time there so much. The staff is outstanding and I've been very impressed with the curriculum. Where else can a 2 or 3 year old learn about robotics, states of matter, density, etc. in a way that's easy to digest at that age?

At first I thought Wow a STEM academy that can allow my child to explore and think outside the box! However, the staff is not fully skilled on working with a diverse population. Diversity and inclusion should be a training course offered to the staff so that apologies are not needed. Spanish immersion with a bit of Spanish sternness. Had the school been more accepting and less discriminatory then the idea of such place would have been a great relief. The owner, being a UT graduate was very professional and also very aware of the gap in a positive experience for my family. It was eye opening to encounter this type of treatment for the Austin area to say the least. 2 out of 5 rating from me. P.S. Not sure how one incorporates a STEM program in Spanish to toddlers who are learning English. I think it’s a great business opportunity, though. that’s it. Toodles

My child just graduated from Copernicus, after being there for 2 years. We were incredibly lucky to find this school! The Administration and the teachers are caring and so great with the kids. My daughter loved doing the hands-on projects and learning Spanish. She learned so much and also grew her social skills, emotional intelligence, and confidence. I can't say enough good things about this school and what it has done for my child and my family. I highly recommend Copernicus STEM Academy to all families in Austin!

My daughter has been at Copernicus for nearly 2 years. She is absolutely thriving and loves going to school. The curriculum is engaging and all of her teachers have been so caring and communicative. The school has the most beautiful outdoor space where the kids spend a ton of time playing outside in nature. The most incredible bonus is the Spanish immersion environment. My family speaks zero Spanish at home, but my daughter is bilingual in English and Spanish…what a gift to give her in life. The owner, Amy, and the director, Yesenia, are engaged, enthusiastic, and attentive. Highly, highly recommend this school if you want a STEM-focused curriculum filled with lots of time to explore nature and a Spanish immersion program.

We've sent both our boys to Copernicus and love every part of it. The boys have continuous exposure to a second language (spanish) and love the community, the teachers and the other students. I could not recommend this place more. Thanks years of excellent education and community.
