I honestly do not know where to begin when describing what this school has done to help the overall development of my son. My son began to attend the school he was 3 years old. Due to a hearing issue, he had been taking speech and occupational therapy months prior to beginning the school; his progress was minimal. Mrs. Deborah the director and Ms. Valerie his teacher worked closely with the specialist to ensure my son received all of his services and incorporated them in his class activities. They even attended all of his renewal meetings and wrote letters of his progress to the Board of Education. My son began school in January. By the end of the school year in June, my son's speech advanced immensely. I know without their help, he would have never shown as much progress in such a short time. Besides educationally, my son has gained confidence and friendships. He enjoys going to school and loves the staff. Ms. Nelson did an amazing job of choosing the right staff to gain the optimal achievement of each child. Ms. Nelson and Mrs. Deborah always made themselves available to speak. That brought lots of comfort to me, being a fairly new and single parent. Covid-19 has changed everything. Like every parent, I was apprehensive in making my son attend school. However, precautions are taken daily to ensure the health of all. To name a few... Temperature checks, verbal health checks, minimizing outside traffic, and weekly emails of how we can protect our children. These measures plus others has reassured me my son will be safe. I will recommend this school to any parent. Thank you, for all you do.

To Karen Rambarrat. Question- how did you get any of this information regarding the cleaning and the change of hands? I have found that you have a mutual connection to someone who has ties to the school. Unfortunately the information that you provided or received is false. We are following all Covid cleaning and disinfecting protocol. This is a Montessori environment, not a daycare it is sad that you would take the time to create a post like this about our school

It’s hard to find a school that is as dedicated to teaching and nurturing children as Bronxville Montessori. There is a true sense of family here and the staff loves and protects the students as if they were their own children. Staff is exceptionally cognizant of the possible spread of COVID and each employee works extra hard to maintain a sanitary environment. There are even two extra employees whose sole responsibility is to disinfect all areas of the school throughout each day. This is a testament to how much the director and staff care about each other and all the families who attend.

The school had changed hands and now considered a day care. please consider carefully when choosing this place. Not even sure it’s been COVID cleaned since the pandemic began

Bronxville Montessori (BMS) is a hidden gem. Our family moved nearby last year, and we were a bit concerned about being able to find a high quality preschool. My husband works in education, and we’re both very focused on the impact of an educational environment on the development of young children. After seeing several daycares and preschools in the area, we visited BMS and knew it was the program for us. Our daughter, almost 3, just made the cutoff to get into the mixed age classroom. BMS has almost a magical quality about it - The head of the school, Deborah, runs an excellent operation. From having kind, passionate, well trained teachers, to fostering a secure, collaborative, learning environment for the children, we could not be happier with our experience at BMS. While I could go on about the different best practices I’ve seen there, I think the most important proof is in the pudding… Since starting at BMS, our daughter has grown wonderfully. She’s become more thoughtful, conscientious, and engaged. She’s excited to go to school in the morning, and models the behaviors they foster there, outside of school (curiosity about the world, empathy, cleaning up after herself, and more). To us, Bronxville Montessori maintains the perfect balance of lots of play (creative and physical), some traditional classroom instruction, and character focused activities/norms. Of course there’s work on the parents’ part to help foster a similar environment at home, but we feel BMS has helped lay an excellent foundation for our daughter. We recommend the school to all our local friends (one just enrolled their toddler in the 2s program). We have also been very happy with their ability to reopen for the 2020/2021 school year, and with all the precautions they’re taking to ensure a safe environment amidst COVID-19. The 3-5 age class students wear masks inside and outside, are screened every morning, practice frequent hand-washing, follow social distancing measures inside the classroom, and more. The pandemic has been extra challenging for all our children, and since returning to BMS after the pandemic school lockdown, our now almost-4-year-old has has been progressing back to her more normal state - happier, less anxious, fewer meltdowns, etc.

My older child went there for 2 years. My younger one goes there now. We have been very happy with their service and constant updates about my children. I recommend them to anyone who wants peace of mind about their children while away at work!

Great, school. The owner and all the staff are wonderful, caring, and kind people. Our family is very grateful for all of them and how accommodating and caring they have been to our daughter.
