We consider ourselves privileged to have got a spot here last minute. Wind Rose Montessori is THE cream of the crop. They value child led play, and promote independence. Half the day is spent in and around Discovery park (hello great outdoors!), half the day inside. The facilities (play space, materials etc) are thoughtfully designed. Communication is also great; we are always kept in the loop through Slack app and also during drop off pick up. But most importantly, the teachers are absolutely fantastic, working on the students' behavioral/emotional growth, providing them with nurturing care and overall a well rounded, age appropriate education. They also periodically send out parent education materials, as well as giving individualized guidance whenever we need it. Our toddler transformed in the short span of 3 months she's been going to Wind Rose and we couldn't be more grateful.

We couldn't ask for a more perfect preschool for our child! Wind Rose is amazing! Our child has been at the school since 2.5 years old and continues to impress us with all he has learned physically, mentally and emotionally. The curriculum is thoughtful, intentional, fun and accessible to the varied ages of the students. The teachers are smart, passionate, communicative and truly care for each child individually, and in turn, each family too. It is a wonderful, welcoming, supportive community to be part of. We are so lucky! I know this school is setting our child up for success in the future but equally important, he is having fun, building confidence and good relationships and experiencing the love of learning, right now.

I should note that I have spent an embarrassing amount of time researching childcare, going on countless tours/info sessions, scouring the various social media and parenting blogs, and disecting options with my husband and other parent friends. My daughter had attended a highly-regarded day care in Seattle that took us over a year to get into, but we didn’t love our experience and ended up enrolling her in WR a few mon We had our reservations: she would be on the younger side, she’d have to drop her nap, she can’t walk a block without an uppie request, the day ends at 3:30 and we both work full time, etc. TLDR, we couldn’t be happier with this decision and have zero regrets, doubts, or concerns (when can we ever say that about parenting?!). She adjusted very quickly, no doubt due to the incredibly nurturing and enriching program. She immediately thrived - mentally, emotionally, and physically - in the short amount of time she’s been there. We feel so lucky to have found this community of unbelievable educators and families.

This is a fantastic school. As an early childhood development expert, I can say that this school is doing it right. Outdoor education, developmentally appropriate learning activities, stellar leadership, and most importantly, compassionate and well-trained teachers.

Nothing but gratitude and love for owner Erica Stuckey and the entire Wind Rose team! Our daughter joined Wind Rose at 3.5 y/o and spent two very fulfilling years at the school before heading to Kindergarten. The most unique part of the program, spending half of the school day outside, rain or shine, was a big draw for us and our daughter loved her afternoons learning and exploring throughout Discovery Park. Erica pours her heart and soul into the Wind Rose curriculum and community, which is felt by every student (and family) that joins the program. Now that we’ve started Kindergarten, I’m happy to report that Wind Rose also exceeded expectations for preparing my daughter for the independence that is required in elementary school; specifically, managing her own backpack and lunch box and getting clothed for outdoor adventures (zipping jackets, swapping shoes, etc). We highly recommend Wind Rose Montessori and are counting down the months for when our younger son will be joining the school!

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Windrose. Our son experienced a few different child care options in the area and none of them even came close to comparing with his time spent with Alisa and Brittanica. Drop offs were seamless and as I walked away I felt so confident they would not only take good care of him, but that he was going to have an awesome day! The calm focus these kids exercise during the Montessori workflow is so impressive. The outdoor portion of the day is so healthy and so good for these kids in so many different ways. It doesn’t get better than discovery park. It is a brilliantly executed program.

We absolutely loved our time in the Wind Rose community! Our son learned so much and had so much fun. We credit with his insatiable appetite for hiking and learning. Our whole family would joke that we were jealous of our son's school and wished we could go. Couldn't recommend WR more highly!

Wind Rose is a gem. The combo outdoor classroom and montessori approach is really special, and I feel lucky our family found this school. The teachers are incredibly skilled (I learned a lot from them!), loving, kind, and dedicated. Our daughter thrived here and I only wish this could be her school experience for the next 13 years :-)
