Sunset Montessori Community

We love Sunset Montessori! We appreciate the knowledge our children have gained but more importantly how their social emotional development has been fostered. They value the whole child, celebrate their individuality, encourage their independence and guide their ability to learn outside of the “traditional” methods.

My daughter attended SMC from age 3 until she began kindergarten (at another school). The foundation for learning that was established in her by the school and her amazing teachers is still evident even now, when she is about to enter fifth grade. By the time we left SMC, she was reading simple books on her own, writing very well (including cursive!), adding and subtracting, and she had grown from a shy toddler into an independent and confident child. She currently reads at an 8th grade level and still has a strong love of mathematics.

This place is amazing! I can't say enough good things about this Montessori and the teachers. My 10 years old son was attending the Sunset Montessori when he was 3 and at the age 5 he was already reading and multiplying. At his early age he developed the passion for learning that still pays off, he is an A+ student, attends the Class for gifted and talented kids, and he is one of the best students in his school. Currently my 5 years old twins attend the Sunset Montessori and they just love this place! It's amazing how much progress they made since the day they were enrolled. Their knowledge is already at the 1st grade level! I was positively surprised that the teachers didn't change since my older son left the Montessori , my kids just love them!! The teachers are very caring and have independent approach to each child. The classes are small and each child gets the required attention. The warmth that the teachers have and the connecton to the students is remarkable.They make you feel like a family. In addition this place is very clean and safe! I highly, highly recommend this place!

I was instantly drawn to the warmth and openness of the staff during the tour of the school. We have been nothing but thrilled with our child's development and care at Sunset Montessori. They are committed to the Montessori Principles as well as the Social Justice issues ever present in our society. So much growth. Will send our next child here when the time comes.

The teacher's treatment of the children is super special, they learn a lot. Also the place super clean. I do not regret that my girl is in this place. Love it!

Love this school! My first born attended this school 10 years ago and now my youngest is about to graduate kindergarten from here as well! And both got lucky with the same teacher! All teachers and staff are so loving, attentive and supportive to our kids. Highly recommend this school!
