Great school for developing a lifelong love of learning. We’ve loved it for the past 7 years

A wonderful school! We are so happy to find a place where our child will thrive both academically and socially! Update: Our oldest has attended for 2 years and our youngest started this school year, we continue to be very pleased with the education received at MSFW and the community of families involved here.

We moved to Fort Worth from Nashville when our children were 2 and 4. My wife, an educator (M.Ed in Special Education from UT Austin) became interested in the Montessori method about the time we became parents so when we were in Nashville our oldest child attended a Montessori pre-school. He had such a good experience that when we moved to Fort Worth we were particularly interested in finding a quality Montessori pre-school for both our children to attend. We researched every Montessori school within 10 miles of our home in Tanglewood and decided that the Montessori Children’s House, now Montessori School of Fort Worth, was the best fit for our children. We have never been disappointed. In fact, our children’s experience at MCH/MSFW was so good that they never attended Tanglewood Elementary, even though the school was an important factor in our decision to buy in that neighborhood. Both our children stayed at MCH/MSFW through the 6th grade, which was as far as it went at the time, a decision we have never regretted. The educational foundation our children received at MCH/MSFW has continued to pay dividends. After leaving MSFW they both excelled at Trinity Valley. The oldest is now a pre-med junior at TCU and the youngest is a plebe at West Point. The points raised by those who posted negative reviews all appear to come from the anti-vaccine crowd who oppose the MSFW policy not to enroll students who have not been vaccinated unless they have a medical waiver. These parents never had a child attend the school so their grievance cannot be with the quality of the education - they would have no way of knowing - but with a school policy established to protect the children it serves. As a private school it has every right to do this, and as a parent - and a board-certified pediatrician - I am glad it does. Vaccination initiatives have over two centuries of scientific evidence supporting their role in protecting the public’s health, especially the health of our most vulnerable citizens - children, people with chronic diseases and the elderly. To assert that MSFW is “not allow(ing) parents to make their own medical decisions for their children” - as one reviewer asserts - is, well, silly. These parents can ignore the data and considered opinion of the vast majority of the scientific community and make whatever imprudent decision they want regarding the medical care their children receive. What they cannot do is place someone else’s child at risk as a result of that ill-advised decision. I rarely write reviews but when I heard that a handful of anti-vaccine fanatics had targeted an excellent school to drive down its ratings I felt compelled to respond.

I was a Montessori kid and while we practice Montessori principles at home, I wanted my son to have a formal Montessori education as well. We were so thrilled when we found MSFW! He's in the primary class and loving every minute! He comes home talking about how much he loves his teachers and friends and about all the new and exciting things he's learning. This week he's been talking non-stop about volcanos, the earth's crust, magma, and about looking at igneous rock under a magnifying glass! MSFW is the only fully AMS accredited school in Fort Worth, their classes are absolutely beautiful and inviting, and the staff and teachers have been wonderful! I definitely recommend MSFW if you are looking for a quality Montessori education for your child.

My two siblings and I all graduated from here. Mrs. Henderson was a great teacher and the school does a great job sticking to the true foundations of Montessori.
