Montessori Gifted Prep

Our two daughters went to MGP. This year, only the youngest is left. We are really very happy with this school. We want the best for our children and I think we found it here: the teachers and the support team are all lovely and committed to their mission (some teachers have been there for almost 10 years and most of them since a long time, I believe that this is a guarantee of good management, continuity and professionalism), listening to the needs of our children and supporting the parents if necessary. Communication is fluid, the activities are varied, the trilingual teaching is a real plus for the children and it is incredible to see their progress in new languages. In addition, our daughters did not even speak English when they arrived here and their adaptation went extremely well because they were at MGP. The cost of schooling is quite high but it is really worth it. Finally, for us, Montessori teaching brings a lot to the children, it could be a little more advanced in certain areas at MGP but it totally respects the state of mind and the benefits of such teaching.

We love MGP! The school, the teachers, the community, the education are all incredible. Our daughter loves going to school and we are so grateful we found MGP. Our daughter has been attending since last fall 2023 and we are planning to have our son enroll once he is old enough.

Montessori Gifted Prep has been a blessing for our son. When our son joined MGP as a 3 year old last fall, there definitely was some separation anxiety and lots of crying. But the MGP staff and teachers were so patient and nice, that soon enough our son was walking in the front door without looking back. Their education is top notch. They teach Spanish and Mandarin, and have a certified Montessori curriculum. But they also prep your child for the CPS Selective Enrollment tests if you choose. An extra special shout out to Ms. Wen, who was our primary homeroom teacher. She was our shining star for our son. Ms. Yanneth and Ms. Rachel were amazing in the classroom too. The headmaster Mr. JC is a wealth of education knowledge. We had some very meaningful conversations about some future education decisions, and we could tell that Mr. JC's advice was based on evidence based research and his years in education. Suffice to say, our son was accepted into our first choice of the CPS SEES application process. We can't recommend MGP enough! A+++!!!

Mr. JC has an impressive vision for what a well-rounded education can look like for his students. The staff is fantastic, both admin and teachers, and they all seem to share that steadfast commitment to their students. We've been thoroughly impressed by the experiences and knowledge our daughter has gained since being enrolled. Their track record for acceptance into Selective Elementary Enrollment Schools through CPS speaks for itself.

Overall, we were very happy with MGP. We moved our son from another montessori in Chicago to MGP when he was about 3 and he continued there through pre-K. While you get the Montessori style education, I also felt that the atmosphere was a little more relaxed (less uptight) compared to the other Montessori we were at (which was a good thing). The teachers are caring and have fun with the kids. There is a bit of a focus on preparing kids to take the selective enrollment tests, which has its pros and cons, but overall I feel like our son is more prepared for kindergarten than he otherwise would have been.

Our twin boys have been going to MGP since August 2021 and they absolutely LOVE IT! The atmosphere, culture, teachers, multiple language programs, etc... the overall experience has been wonderful. So many amazing benefits of Montessori, if you are thinking about it, I highly recommend this school. We couldnt be happier knowing that our kids are in great hands! We love this school! Our daughter has been going here for two years and we have had a fantastic experience. All of the staff and teachers are amazing and work so hard to create a wonderful learning environment for the kids.
