We are Stone! There's a reason I worked on getting my son in here for 4 years. Fortunately we found a better suited school for him. However, I have twins at Harry Stone and couldn't ask for a more nurturing environment. The teachers, Principal Nikki Jones, Asst. Principal Preston, and Mrs. Hope Williams have always given 120%. Hours mean nothing to them because Stone is their family our family now and our home. It's just a very tight knit learning facility. Every opportunity to better our children in any way is always explored. As Principal Jones says, " These are her Kids." She truly treats each child individually and as her own with both Montessori and IB Accreditations. I could go on for days about how they truly have helped and what Prek student can map out the Continents label them then in public point out in a decor store, "Hey Mom! There's Australia!" And, then they went into further discussion about the land of each Continent. Now they are 1st Graders and labeling parts if speech and multiplying. We are all very happy all regarding this decision. That's all 5 of us, in our small family. Even though they go to different schools. Because, in the long run humans are not made cookie cutter style nor should a child's learning experience. Thank You Stone! :)

Completely unacceptable. Totally idiotic. This school pushes students to be "balanced" and continue with their personal life, and do things that they enjoy, and don't let school interfere with that, while still maintaining their work in school. Well, anonymous has complained that they give so much homework, that it is almost impossible to obtain the goal of being "balanced", and it interferes with her personal life. It keeps her up all night even though anonymous is very intelligent, and gets through work pretty quickly. This is extra hard on the students going through the transition from elementary to middle school. Another problem is the monstrous books that teachers give students, only for homework. They make the students carry them everywhere and take them home, instead of giving page numbers, and let students tear them out, since the books are comsumable. This can cause back, and posture problems in the future. Yes, the solution may be rolling backpacks, but not everyone can afford those. In my opinion, the sanitation in the school auditorium is very poor. The room is incredibly dusty. As are the chairs, armrests, stage, backstage, and small staircase. This can cause the students to have colds, and other ailments, to the point where they cannot attend school, then they fall behind. I am aware of the age of the building, but it would be nice if the room was dusted and thoroughly cleaned. The kitchen is in bad shape as well. There are black stains along the baseboard, and on the floor, it is a bit dusty, and the metal containers in which food is served do not look clean either. The kitchen also has an unusual odor. This can cause food poisoning as well. All of these problems need to be addressed as soon as possible.

I started my journey with HSMA (Harry Stone Montessori Academy) in Aug of 2007 and it is currently August of 2017. In my 10 years of attendance at Harry Stone, it has truly shaped me to be the person I am today. The administration and staff is very loving and kind to the students. The faculty treated me like I was their own child and for that I will forever be grateful. 10 years is a long time to attend one school, and yes there were times when I felt like giving up however the teachers wouldn’t let me because they saw uncanny potential that I couldn’t even see in myself- because of that push my teachers gave me, I am currently enrolled in the Townview School of Business and Management. The IB (International Bachelorette) program was introduced in 2013-2014 school year and has proven to be a great success to the students, giving them an academic edge from other students around DISD. Thanks to the IB Program I am able to take other courses in high school. Ultimately parents, if you want your kid(s) to blossom into a bright individual(s)- Harry Stone Montessori is the path to go. “World Class Scholars, Destined for Excellence!”
