My child loves Montessori learning. Unfortunately with FCMS the student supports are very hit and miss. The teacher for 2 years was an emotional bully and as a parent it was a constant fight for student supports. After a year and a half of fighting, losing my job due to the anxiety created for my child, hiring an outside student advocate, and paying thousands out of pocket for an independent evaluation to prove he needed some fairly mild accommodations that other students were already receiving my child will NOT be returning to FCMS and the same teacher for yet another year of bullying from her. Since this Montessori school is part of the district as a charter it's not as true a Montessori learning setup as it could be and perhaps that is part of the problem? Be very wary if you have a gifted or at all sensory challenged child, even though Montessori is supposed to always "follow the child". Gifted means they will insist that your child fall behind by 2 grade levels or more before being evaluated or helped in any way. Even mild challenges will be met with the idea that punishments or withholding recess and other enjoyable parts of the day will suddenly fix any inherent sensory or differences in learning needs.

I'm sorry but I really miss the old after school care program. The waitlist is ridiculous.

The after school care program isn't the greatest. The waiting list is way too long at alpha education. Many complaints.

We are happy with FCMS. Our kiddo is thriving. His teacher seems phenomenal.

After struggling with many issues during our oldest son's 1st grade year at the neighborhood school we were recommended to look into Fort Collins Montessori School. My 2nd grader is thriving in this amazing environment that they have created at Fort Collins Montessori School. We were lucky to also get my preschooler into the school. It is worth any parents time to come check it out and ask questions because in today's world we need more positive encouragement and influences which you will find at this school plus a lot more great benefits.

Putting your kids into Montessori for the first time feels a little scary if that's not how you grew up. But once you start to see your children thrive in their environment, gain confidence, love learning, self-motivate, demonstrate kindness and start to reveal the motivated person within; then you too will gain confidence in this different approach to education. The teachers and staff at the Fort Collins Montessori truly care about how your child develops not just what they learn. I highly recommend this school and at the very least touring or going to an education night to see if it's what you think is best for your child.

We are so happy with Fort Collins Montessori School! Amazing teachers that really know our children, as well as administrators and staff that genuinely listen and take to heart any questions or concerns you might have. A few of the things we especially love: one-on-one lessons, individualized goals, high emphasis on fostering time-management skills, subject-integrated projects, multi-age classrooms (genius for so many reasons), only the required minimum of standardized testing, and one of my favorites- NO homework (because time outside of school is important too!) Our expectations are constantly being met or exceeded at every turn, and we look forward to seeing what the future brings as our kids progress through this wonderful program!

We're thrilled with this school. Both of my son's teachers over the last two years, Mrs. Nipp and Mrs. Armenio have been excellent and brought out the best in him. He LOVES math, cursive and maps, in particular. It's a struggle to get him to stop working on his "projects" at bedtime. He's thriving with this Montessori education. We're thankful to the entire school community for all the effort, support, and sound management that has made FCMS such a great school.
