Evergreen Academy: an Acton Academy

I am consistently in awe of Evergreen’s ability to grow, change and pivot as needed. The guides and director of the school keep the kids safe, engaged and continuing on their journey no matter what the outside world is throwing at them.

Acton has been an important stepping stone for our daughter to grow into her full potential. During the past two years, we’ve seen her build confidence, develop a willingness to try difficult things, and experiment with leading her peers. She’s become comfortable with public speaking, acting and goal setting. She’s literally taken charge of her academics. And in all of this, she’s learning to become a self-directed critical thinker. Good stuff.

This has been a wonderful community for my daughter. She has grown in so many valuable ways. I highly recommend taking a tour and checking it out.

We found the Acton model to be a great fit for our two children. We had tried traditional school, Montessori, and then homeschooling, and nothing got close to meeting their needs nor allowed them to pursue their passions and interests like Acton does! The book Courage to Grow does a great job at describing what daily life at an Acton looks like.

This is our first year at Evergreen and my husband and I thrilled with how our daughter is thriving and impressed with the growth she is already experiencing. She is being empowered to explore, research and find her calling, all while learning skills that will be valuable and used throughout the rest of her life. We are thankful that Evergreen exists and highly recommend it.

We are so happy to have found Evergreen Academy! The only negative is that I wish we had found them sooner so that our older children would have had this education experience. I can already see that our Hero is developing a love of learning. We are excited that the education environment Evergreen fosters allows the Heroes to move at their own pace in different subjects while challenging them to grow their skills.

Evergreen Academy is the kind of school I wish I had when I was a kid!!! Focused on learning to learn, learning to do (real stuff!) and learning to be, Evergreen empowers students to take ownership of their education and find a calling that changes the world. Btw, the campus is gorgeous - the perfect backdrop to such a unique and powerful learning experience. Your kid's gonna love it here - it's like nothing else in the Noble/Norman area!

Evergreen will take education where it needs to be; in the hands of our students. Giving them power and responsibility for their own learning so that they can become heroes and change makers in the world. Matina will guide this school with passion, love and care!
