Dufrocq Elementary School

My son attends the Montessori program at Dufrocq and it is wonderful. I have another child who attends another local magnet school. I wish the Montessori program was at each magnet. That would be amazing. The teachers are high quality, the program works, my son is independent and reading at age 3. I would highly recommend the (beautiful!) Dufrocq school.

I have 2 grandchildren currently attending Dufrocq. I totally agree that the teachers and staff can do a little better with showing compassion for their students, whether they are from across Government St or not because I always state that you never know what a child goes thru daily. On the hand, I admire the large parental involvement the school has had last year.

During my visits to the school as a VIPS volunteer I noticed that while the facilities seem nice some of the teachers seemed to have no respect for the children - not just the troublemakers but the more meek students as well (then again this probably happens in most schools anyway)

Staff has no compassion for the kids... "The kids who don't come from Park Blvd" They are very arrogant, unprofessional, and only care about the image they're trying to portray. Dufrocq is a facade!!!!!
