We are so glad to be part of the CM family. We toured a number of Montessori schools in Chicago for our daughter for 1st grade. We really felt at home here. Jennifer and Ms Boland are so nice and great educators. Our daughter is really thriving and growing here and we could not be more happy. I wish we lived closer, but it's completely worth the 30 min drive each way for us.

My husband and I recently went to observe at Chicago Montessori to help us decide if we should send our toddler there this coming fall. Most of our time was spent in the primary classrooms, although we also observed each of the other levels. As an an AMI-trained primary teacher myself, when I observe I look for a few specific things: are the children joyful; are the children connected to their teachers and classroom (i.e., are they actively and happily engaged in learning); are there moments of calm or concentration; and if there is a conflict, how does the teacher handle it. Both my husband and I were so pleased with what we saw. The children were definitely joyful. You could tell that they were happy to be with each other and at school. There was a whole range of "work" happening and the children I saw clearly had developed a love for learning. Although I saw no conflict, my husband witnessed a small moment between two young children and he was impressed by how the teacher handled it. He made a note of how respectful she was and how she calmly spoke with them and then redirected the children back to work and they happily went on their ways. The staff was kind and clearly knowledgeable. We are looking forward to sending our daughter there in the fall!

We love this school! The staff, the teachers, and the leadership are all top notch. They know the Montessori methods at a deep level (research the significance of the AMI certification this school has and how rare it is). More importantly, they care deeply about the children and their passion is obvious. The quality of education is outstanding and we’ve enjoyed becoming part of the community - it is full of kind people and great families. The parent education events are topical, informative, and full of practical tips. Go visit for a tour and you will surely be impressed at how focused the 3-6yr olds are while working independently on their own tasks.

A wonderful Montessori school. The teachers are very professional and friendly. Classrooms are beautiful. Children are good manner and highly concentrated to their work. Street parking are available. The photo is cherry tea prepared for me by a girl in a 3-5 year old classroom. It is adorable.

Sending our child to Chicago Montessori was the best choice my partner and I could have made. This is her third year in the primary program and it has been incredible to watch her focus, independence and intellectual curiosity grow. Her Spanish speaking skills have grown tremendously as well thanks to the bilingual classrooms. If you are looking for a rigorous, deeply caring and stimulating school for your child with a vibrant community for the children and parents alike, Chicago Montessori is a wonderful choice.

Our son and daughter started out at Chicago Montessori in the primary program at 3 years old. Our daughter has since completed her first year of elementary and our son will soon be moving up to elementary. The school goes up to 6th grade and we have committed to staying at the school for that long. I can't say enough good things about this school. The classrooms are set up so older children can help teach the younger. Students are given uninterrupted blocks of time to concentrate on - and master - the work they've chosen (teachers keep a close watch on what work the students choose and help guide them when necessary to work they have not chosen on their own). The kids are confident in their work and it is amazing to see how much they accomplish in a year - tackling areas like reading, world geography, multiplication, and division all before 1st grade. The parent community is very welcoming and involvement is high. But most important of all, our kids love school and look forward to it every day.
