The teacher / Kara is extremely insightful / knowledgeable and invests personally in each childs holistic growth and development. We have had an exceptional experience with Keys Montessori Home, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Our first impression of Kara, the head of the school, was nothing short of excellent. Her approach to education is firmly rooted in the true Montessori ethos. This is not a Montessori-inspired school but one that deeply respects and practices the Montessori philosophy, yielding meaningful and lasting results in our children's lives. When we first considered enrolling our son, we were struck by Kara's understanding and compassionate approach. She allowed us to accompany him to school during the initial transition period, gently helping him adjust to his new routine. This thoughtful method made all the difference for us. Previously, attempts to drop him off at other schools—where we had to leave him crying—broke our hearts and his. It led to behavioral challenges and made the idea of school more stressful than beneficial. Kara's willingness to let us spend a few hours with him at school and gradually wean him into the environment was a game-changer. It not only eased his transition but also repaired our parent-child attachment, creating a positive and supportive foundation for his education. When it comes to developing our children academically, I would argue that there is no better person than Kara. You will be truly surprised by seeing little people’s potential expressed. But my favorite aspect of this environment is how our children are seen, heard, and respected. This means they not only experience respect but also learn what it truly means to respect others and take responsibility for their actions—even at the young ages of 2 and 4. While the roles of adults and children may differ, all individuals here are treated as equals, fostering an atmosphere of mutual respect and accountability. This school is truly a nurturing space where children thrive emotionally, socially, and academically. We are deeply grateful for the care and dedication Kara and her team provide, and we wholeheartedly recommend Keys Montessori Home to any parent looking for a genuine Montessori education that respects both the child and their unique journey.

What an amazing place for kids to learn and grow. An authentic Montesorri environment where real learning happens. The environment is safe and homely. The equipment provided is next level and teacher Kara is fantastic with kids. Great care is taken with every detail provided to the kids. From the food served to the activities available for each age group. This is a gem of a school and Oudtshoorn is very lucky to have a true Montessori school such as this!
