Karuna Montessori School

Being an ex educator myself, selecting the right place for our son to start his education was imperative. From the very start we knew this was the right place for us. Karuna embodies the genuine Montessori philosophy. With a dedicated Principal and a small community feel, Karuna is an absolute rarity. A beautiful natural outdoor environment, well resourced indoor space (it even has white carpet!!) and enrolment/orientation process that ensures harmony and enjoyment for all children, Karuna Montessori is the perfect place for families who want their children to have the best start. The new addition of flexible hours for families is testament to the Principal and hard working parent management board that continually listen and evolve the school to stay inline with community needs while balancing a traditional Montessori curriculum. If you are on the Northern Beaches, THIS is the place you want your children to go!

Karuna is a wonderful little preschool in Narraweena which has been perfect for our daughter this past year. The educators are professional, experienced and nurturing and the kids really respond well to them. They spend time learning about the world around them and have amazing creative art projects every week. There is a wide range of activities from yoga to cooking to gardening and they really make the most of the outside time in the beautiful garden. There is a real sense of community at Karuna, the fact it is only a small preschool means all the kids are very close. There are many opportunities for parents and grandparents to come and see what they have been working on or to celebrate special days. You can see how proud the kids are of their work and their school when families come to visit. I would highly recommend Karuna to anyone looking to give their kids a great start at a very caring preschool. I only wish we had started my daughter here earlier!

Karuna is such a nurturing, peaceful little preschool. We love that it has a maximum of 30 children, the educators are so caring and experienced and the approach they use really sets them up for life. The grounds are beautiful with a huge, shady grass outdoor area, their own garden and worm farm to tend, paths to ride tricycles, mud kitchen and water table to explore, massive covered sandpit to dig in, wooden play equipment to climb and lots of sports equipment to keep them active. The indoor environment is really well resourced with all the engaging Montessori materials as well as regular music, art, cooking, sport, science and language lessons. The parent community is fabulous, supportive and inclusive. Our son loves going here and has grown so much in confidence and independence since starting. Highly recommend!

We are so happy we found Karuna. We were familiar with the Montesorri curriculum but new to Sydney so wanted a school and community where our family could thrive. The environment is beautiful and peaceful - inside and out - with amazing equipment and facilities for the kids to explore. A great balance between learning and playing. Just what we wanted in a preschool! We can’t wait to send our three daughters here. Highly recommend.
