We were with habitat Nundah since they opened, and from the beginning were persistently underwhelmed by the amount of undelivered promises. The centre has churned through numerous directors over the last few years, and unfortunately there has also been a revolving door of unhappy educators who leave. Our family stayed on with loyalty to a few excellent teachers/educators - sadly, they’re gone now too. It appears that Habitat’s focus on profit surpasses the care for their staff and prioritising a consistent service. This centre promises better ratios, better staff conditions, better communication with families, better curriculum, quality staff P.D./training, and generally better quality, safer care. We haven’t experienced that to be true. Teachers are run off their feet often with heaps of children in their care, overworked, unheard, and under resourced. The ‘events’ Habitat promises are a joke - they’re no more polished than what any other service offers - and half the time they’re cancelled anyway. Habitat has a very slick and heavy numbered upper management who sweep your concerns under the rug when you raise them. It’s just smoke and mirrors and empty promises, and in the long run nothing changes. An honest review of this establishment has been long overdue. Don’t drink the cool aid and certainly don’t think that making financial sacrifices to send your child here will give anything above and beyond what you’d expect at any other childcare service. Apart from a pretty building, this service is simply focussed on profits, not quality care.

My child has been going to the Montessori curriculum since the beginning of the year after having a bad experience at another childcare centre. She's so happy to be there, it's clear that we made the right choice. The educators spend time telling me how she did through the day, and have really fostered the Montessori style of early childcare education I've been looking for. There is a beautiful parents room that has been fantastic when I've arrived in the middle of my child's nap, so I can do a pump session or get some work Done on my laptop while I'm waiting, and there's also a book swap library for the children. The educators are passionate about a holistic approach to early childhood education, and this is seen through the multitude of workshops that are held through the year, as well as the community events that are held regularly. It's always a difficult decision for parents to place their child in someone else's care, and it has been a stressful transition for me to find a place that both myself and my child were comfortable with. I'm glad I found Habitat, and am thrilled that my little girl gets excited at the thought of going to daycare now. Cost is higher than the standard, but it's only for a few years, and I truly believe that the first few years are most critical for her development, and we're lucky to be able to afford this, as I don't know where I'd find a centre as great as Habitat!

Our son has only been at the centre since January but in that time we have had an amazing experience. Yes, the centre is a lot more expensive than others in the area but I have found the staff so welcoming & supportive. His educators always takes time at pick up to tell me about how he has gone that day & responded promptly when I sent a follow up email to get a little bit more feedback about his transition. He has had so many wonderful experiences since starting - not just opportunities to learn and explore in the classroom but also introducing concepts like breathing & stretching to calm & relax his body through weekly “yoga” classes. We are enrolled in the emergent curriculum so I can’t comment on how this compares to the Montessori classes but we have been so happy with our experience so far. I think sometimes people can be caught up on cost and whether or not it is “worth the money”. We are in a fortunate position where we can afford the fees and believe that given how important early education we are not going to say that it “isn’t worth the money”. My only hope is that his amazing educators are paid at a rate that reflects the hard work they do.

Habitat has been an exceptional fit for our three children aged 4, 3, 13 months. Each classroom has lovely facilities and the staff are caring, engaging and highly professional, not to mention the chef prepared meals! I was more than comfortable leaving my 10 month old in the care of the team, knowing she would be cared for perfectly. Thank you habitat for providing such a lovely environment for our family. Positive Reliability, Quality, Professionalism

Habitat at Nundah is fantastic. I was understandably nervous about finding care for my first child and did a lot of research. I knew this was the place for us after our first visit and my confidence with the carers and the venue has only grown as time went on. The facilities are amazing, it's a beautiful space with extra activities that help keep little minds active but really the recommendation is around the carers. Special mention to Laurel and Rachael who have taken such excellent care of my little. She comes home so happy (and exhausted). They have always provided great support, advice and I can see they truely care. I highly recommend habitat thanks for looking after my baby.
